Vacancies and opportunities
Vacancies and opportunities
Posts with the secretariat and consultancy opportunities connected to the research programme.
Current openings
There are no open vacancies at present. Posts are advertised here and through the member agencies when they arise.
How posts are advertised
Secretariat posts are advertised openly, with a role description, the location, the contract type and the closing date stated in the notice. Shortlisting is against the criteria in that notice and nothing else.
Research and consultancy opportunities are advertised in the same way, with the deliverables, the intended timetable and the basis on which proposals will be assessed. Where a piece of work is competed, the notice states what a proposal has to contain.
What the work involves
The secretariat is small. Staff are expected to work across the research programme rather than within a single subject, and to deal directly with member agencies, with researchers and with the institutions that fund the work. A background in humanitarian operations, in research management or in a relevant professional specialism is usual; a security background is not required.
