NGOs call for the protection of aid workers in Afghanistan

Published: January 26, 2018

Following the attack in Afghanistan, sixty-one national and international non-government organisations (NGOs), members of Agency Coordinating Body for Afghan Relief and Development (ACBAR), have issued a statement condemning the atrocious attack on NGO offices in Jalalabad on Wednesday 24 January 2018. It has been reported that there is a loss of at least 7 lives, more than 31 people injured, including five children. Read the full statement in English and French below.

EISF’s thoughts are with our Save the Children colleagues and others affected by the attack. Humanitarian assistance is protected under International Humanitarian Law. In order to continue carrying out their life-saving work, aid workers need this legal protection to be respected and reflected in the actions of non-state and state actors.
