Launch of the SIIM Project Handbook

Published: June 19, 2017

RedR UK, Insecurity Insight and EISF are pleased to announce the launch of Version 1.1 of the Security Incident Information Management (SIIM) Handbook.

To celebrate the launch, EISF hosted an event at the Christian Aid offices near Waterloo on Wednesday, 14th June on the topic of security incident information management. The event included a panel discussion chaired by RedR Programmes Director Charlie Dalrymple, with speakers from EISF member organisations as well as Christina Wille, co-founder and director of Insecurity Insight. The panellists discussed the benefits of robust security incident reporting and information management to make sound security and operational decisions from field level to headquarters.

The SIIM Handbook is a key output of the SIIM project and forms the basis of the coaching and training that RedR will be holding over the coming year. It has been developed in partnership with Insecurity Insight, EISF and security specialists from various organisations who form the SIIM Advisory Group.

This Handbook contains guidance on how organisations can develop or improve their security information management processes. Work on it is still ongoing; Version 1.1 is available now, and the final version will launch in September 2017. It will be available in English, French and Arabic.
