Do no digital harm

Discussions had at the 2018 Humanitarian Congress Berlin on the handling of sensitive data in the humanitarian context highlight the benefits and risks associated with taking further steps to digitalise humanitarian action. To help the sector cope with these changes and increasing demands from beneficiary communities for connectivity, the ICRC is continuing its work on this topic and building on its Handbook on Data Protection in Humanitarian Action, focusing on the principle of ‘do no digital harm’.
